Softball Recap: Yosemite Drops Season-High Score on Minarets

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Yosemite). They walked away with a 17-12 win over the Minarets Mustangs on Friday. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 11, 2023, but that streak is no more.

Yosemite got a massive performance out of Jadyn Johnson, who went 3-for-4 with three runs and one RBI. Natalie Misa was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Yosemite kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Yosemite picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 3-5. As for Minarets, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.

Coincidentally, Yosemite and Minarets will both be playing Sierra the next time they take the field. The Mustangs will head out to face the Chieftains at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, while the Badgers will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on the 22nd.
