Basketball Recap: Johnson County Central Comes Up Short

Johnson County Central lost to Syracuse back in December of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Thunderbirds lost 73-50 to the Rockets. The Thunderbirds have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Johnson County Central lost, don't look at Wes Swanson. Despite the final result, he shot 53% from the field on his way to 27 points and seven boards. Another player making a difference was Jack Waring, who posted nine points.

It was another big night for Maxwell Parde, who almost dropped a double-double with 19 points and nine rebounds for Syracuse. The team also got some help courtesy of Will Janssen, who went 7-for-13 en route to 18 points.

Johnson County Central's loss dropped their record down to 14-10. As for Syracuse, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season.

Johnson County Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Syracuse, they have already played their next game, a 59-54 defeat against Ashland-Greenwood on the 26th.
