Camden County gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Wednesday. They walked away with a 6-1 win over the Gates County Red Barons. The Bruins haven't had any issues with the Red Barons recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Cole Roberts made a splash no matter where he played. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over four innings pitched. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single hit, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Roberts wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Cooper Lewin, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Looking ahead, Camden County will head out on the road to challenge Roanoke Rapids at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Gates County, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Hertford County at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
