River Forest and Kouts are an even 4-4 against one another since April of 2015, but likely not for long. The Ingots will challenge the Mustangs & Fillies at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. River Forest is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.7 runs per game this season.

River Forest fell victim to Illiana Christian and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Vikings, falling 16-0. The Ingots haven't had much luck with the Vikings recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

River Forest saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryder Yates, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Kouts fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Jimtown on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Jimmies by a score of 5-4. The Mustangs & Fillies' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Billy Miller made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Cooper Whitaker was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI.

The defeat was their first on the road , dropping their record down to 8-2. As for River Forest, their loss dropped their record down to 7-5.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. River Forest has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 8.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Kouts struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

River Forest came up short against Kouts in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, falling 5-1. Can the Ingots avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
