Baseball Recap: Rifle Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Rifle had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They came out on top against the Grand Junction Central Warriors by a score of 6-2. This was payback for the Bears, who suffered a 10-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

Robbie Magnuson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (three). He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Baden Phillips was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.

Rifle was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. They are 3-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Rifle now has a winning record of 12-11. As for Grand Junction Central, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-17.

As of now, neither Rifle nor the Warriors have any future games scheduled.
