Vermilion is 7-2 against Margaretta since December of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. Both will round out the year against one another at at 7:00 p.m. Vermilion has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Vermilion is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They walked away with a 63-55 victory over Columbia on Monday. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Sailors with their most commanding win of the season.

Mason Cooper and Brock Meyers were among the main playmakers for Vermilion as the former went 10 for 24 on his way to 24 points and seven steals and the latter went 10 of 16 on his way to 21 points. Cooper continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Caleb German was another key player, putting up five points.

Vermilion smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Margaretta put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on Clyde with a sharp 81-58 win. Fans of the Polar Bears have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Margaretta pushed their record up to 7-0 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.3 points per game. As for Vermilion, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Vermilion was taken down by Margaretta 72-31 in their previous matchup back in February. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Vermilion was down 46-24.
