Recap: Colonial Christian Cougars vs. Kokomo HomeSchool Eagles

After a string of five wins, the Colonial Christian Cougars's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 49-48 to Kokomo HomeSchool. Colonial Christian was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Kokomo HomeSchool apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.

Several Cougars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kate Minton, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 15 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Minton has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Stinna Grubb, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and five assists.

Even though they lost, Colonial Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Kokomo HomeSchool's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Megan Hufford, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds. Hufford has been hot recently, having posted ten or more rebounds the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Anna Singleton, who scored 16 points along with five assists and five rebounds.

Colonial Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Kokomo HomeSchool, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-12.

Colonial Christian will head out on the road to face off against Suburban Christian at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Colonial Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Thursday. Kokomo HomeSchool does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
