Volleyball Game Preview: McLaurin Tigers vs. Jefferson Davis County Jaguars

The McLaurin Tigers are taking a road trip to square off against the Jefferson Davis County Jaguars at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. McLaurin will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.

If Piney Woods wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played McLaurin, they should've done a better job of containing Memoree Hunter. The Tigers put the hurt on the Tornadoes with a sharp 3-0 victory on Saturday thanks in part to Hunter, who had ten aces. She has been hot for a while, having posted two or more aces the last ten times she's played.

McLaurin's got stronger as the match went on, holding Piney Woods to fewer and fewer points set over set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-13, 25-10.

Meanwhile, Jefferson Davis County lost 3-0 to Seminary on Thursday. The Jaguars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

McLaurin's win bumped their record up to 18-3. As for Jefferson Davis County, their loss dropped their record down to 3-10.

Everything went McLaurin's way against Jefferson Davis County when the teams last played back in August, as McLaurin made off with a 3-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
