Basketball Recap: Tuscarawas Central Catholic Drops Season-High Score on David Anderson

Tuscarawas Central Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 56-53 heartbreaker at the hands of the David Anderson Blue Devils. One positive for the Saints, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Tuscarawas Central Catholic's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brysen Grimes, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten boards. That's the most boards Grimes has posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ethan Rothrock, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten boards.

Tuscarawas Central Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for David Anderson, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

When Tuscarawas Central Catholic and David Anderson next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Tuscarawas Central Catholic will try to stop Malvern's five-game winning streak when the meet at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Similarly, David Anderson will try to stop Columbiana's eight-game winning streak when the meet at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
