Basketball Recap: Webb City Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Eli Pace and Holton Keith

On Tuesday, the Webb City Cardinals ended up a good deal behind the Central Bulldogs and lost 70-51. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 118th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 23rd).

Webb City's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Holton Keith, who went 6 for 15 en route to 16 points and five steals, and Eli Pace, who went 8 of 15 on his way to 20 points. Pace's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Joseph Degraffenreid, who posted five points.

Webb City's defeat dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Central, they pushed their record up to 8-6 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Webb City will face off against Glendale at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Central, they will take on Willard at 7:00 p.m. on February 4th.
