Basketball Recap: Northwestern Starts Season with Victory at Home

Northwestern gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They blew past the Panama Panthers 58-38.

Makayla Presser-Palmer was nothing short of spectacular: she almost dropped a double-double with 29 points and nine rebounds. The game was her 24th in a row with at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan Gorzynski, who went 8-for-12 en route to 21 points and five boards.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northwestern and Corry will face off at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest, having both just played. As for Panama, they will face off against Southwestern on Wednesday.
