Recap: Washington Huskies vs. American Eagles

After flying high against the Arroyo Dons last Wednesday, the Washington Huskies came back down to earth. Washington fell 64-56 to American on Thursday. Washington was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as American apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.

Despite the defeat, Washington had strong showings from Gianni Clark, who scored 21 points, and Eshaan Brar, who scored 15 points.

Kiratraj Sanghera continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for American, dropping a double-double on 25 points and 19 rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which Sanghera has scored at least a third of American's points. Miles Davy was another key contributor, scoring nine points.

Washington's loss dropped their record down to 10-6. As for American, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Washington will take on Irvington at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Irvington has now lost ten straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 14. As for American, they will play host again and welcome Moreau Catholic, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Moreau Catholic knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight contests -- so hopefully American likes a good challenge.
