Basketball Recap: IMG Academy Blue Takes a Loss

IMG Academy Blue was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They had to suffer through an 80-24 loss at the hands of the Western Reserve Academy Pioneers. While losing is never fun, the Ascenders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 279th in Florida, while the Pioneers are ranked 29th in Ohio).

Western Reserve Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sheridan Oberhand, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 11 assists. The dominant performance also gave Oberhand a new career-high in rebounds (seven). Islay Moore was another key player, shooting 80% from the field to rack up 20 points.

IMG Academy Blue's defeat dropped their record down to 7-22. As for Western Reserve Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 18-10.

IMG Academy Blue does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Western Reserve Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Newman at 11:50 a.m. on Tuesday. Western Reserve Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.7 points per game this season.
