McLoud skates past Meeker with ease

The McLoud Redskins had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They breezed by Meeker on the road to the tune of 94-54. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 53-21.

Bryce Cowns was a one-man wrecking crew for McLoud as he scored 28 points along with 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Castin Schafer was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds.

McLoud's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Meeker, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.

McLoud will be playing in front of their home fans against Okemah at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Okemah and McLoud are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for Meeker, they will head out on the road to face off against Wellston at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Wellston is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
