Crescenta Valley has gone 10-0 against Hoover recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Crescenta Valley Falcons will head out to challenge the Hoover Tornados at 6:45 p.m. One thing working in Crescenta Valley's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven matchups.

Last Tuesday, Crescenta Valley strolled past Burroughs with points to spare, taking the game 61-44. Given the Falcons' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 310th, while the Bears are ranked 937th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Vaughn Zargarian continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 35 points and 14 rebounds. That makes it 18 consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Crescenta Valley's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Arman Bedrossian, who posted six points and ten boards.

Crescenta Valley was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Burroughs only posted seven assists.

Meanwhile, Hoover hadn't done well against Muir recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Hoover managed a 49-43 victory over Muir.

Hoover has also been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. As for Crescenta Valley, their win bumped their record up to an identical 12-7.

Everything came up roses for Crescenta Valley against Hoover when the teams last played back in January of 2024, as the squad secured a 72-42 victory. Will Crescenta Valley repeat their success, or does Hoover have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
