Baseball Recap: New Providence Comes Up Short

If New Providence was feeling good fresh off their 13-1 takedown of Union last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Pioneers fell just short of the Oratory Prep Rams by a score of 4-2 on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Pioneers have suffered since April 26, 2024.

New Providence saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Matthew Santacross, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.

New Providence's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Oratory Prep, the victory also got them back to even at 1-1.

Looking ahead, New Providence will challenge Brearley at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Oratory Prep, they will take on Mountain Lakes at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
