Basketball Recap: Harlan Falls Despite Big Games from Julius Jackson and Jameel Patterson

Fans were treated to a Battle of the Falcons on Tuesday. The Harlan Falcons took a 73-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Thornridge Falcons. If Harlan was looking for revenge after losing 55-44 to them when the teams met back in January of 2019, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Harlan's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Jameel Patterson, who posted 19 points, and Julius Jackson, who put up 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Malcolm Fox, who scored eight points.

This is the second loss in a row for Harlan and nudges their season record down to 8-9. As for Thornridge, their win ended a 14-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 6-18.

Looking ahead, Harlan will take on Tilden at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Harlan is facing Tilden at the right time seeing as Tilden is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. Thornridge has already played their next match (against Agricultural Science), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
