Softball Recap: Oak Harbor Victorious

Four must be Oak Harbor's lucky number: they beat Crestview with that score not once but twice on Friday. The Rockets beat the Cougars by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 4-1. The victory continues a trend for the Rockets in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won three in a row.

Morgan Lalonde spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on nine hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Kaitlyn Meloche was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two doubles, one stolen base, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Haylee Robinson, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Oak Harbor's win bumped their record up to 23-6. As for Crestview, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 23-4.

Coming up, Oak Harbor will face off against Elmwood at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Rockets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Royals have averaged an impressive 7.3 runs per game this season. Crestview does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
