Basketball Game Preview: Strayhorn Mustangs vs. Hickory Flat Rebels

The Strayhorn Mustangs will head out on the road to take on the Hickory Flat Rebels at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Strayhorn is looking for their season's first victory.

Strayhorn is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They had to suffer through a 69-29 loss at the hands of Water Valley.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 68 points the game before, Hickory Flat was a bit more limited in their contest on Thursday. They were beaten by Byers 82-30. While losing is never fun, the Rebels can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 248th, while the Lions are ranked 90th).

Strayhorn's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Hickory Flat, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-13.

Strayhorn was dealt a bruising 68-21 loss at the hands of Hickory Flat in their previous matchup on Friday. Can the Mustangs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
