Recap: Waterville/Mansfield vs. Grandview Greyhounds
If Waterville/Mansfield were riding high off their 52-28 takedown of the Pateros Billygoats/Nannies two weeks ago, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Waterville/Mansfield took a hard 63-48 fall against Grandview on Saturday.
Grandview got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Miya Lopez out in front who scored 15 points. Lopez continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Destinee Medina, who scored six points along with six assists and four steals.
Waterville/Mansfield has fallen quite a ways from their 20-7 record last season and are now at 1-2. As for Grandview, their win bumped their record up to 4-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Waterville/Mansfield will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Moses Lake Christian Academy/Covenant Christian at 6:00 p.m. on January 13th. As for Grandview, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Selah at 5:30 p.m. One thing working in Selah's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matchups.
