Softball Recap: Monterey Trail Comes Up Short

Monterey Trail was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the East Union Lancers.

Monterey Trail saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dakota Bumbaca, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Monterey Trail's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for East Union, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-7.

Monterey Trail has already played their next matchup, a 6-1 win against St. Mary's on the 3rd. East Union has also already played their next contest (against Chavez), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
