Model Secondary School for the Deaf falls despite strong effort from Luke Florio

If the Model Secondary School for the Deaf Eagles were feeling good off their 73-47 takedown of McLean last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Model Secondary School for the Deaf fell 72-60 to Smith Jewish Day School on Tuesday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Model Secondary School for the Deaf in their matchups with Smith Jewish Day School: they've now lost eight in a row.

Despite the loss, Model Secondary School for the Deaf still got an impressive performance from Luke Florio, who went 6 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 31 points and 4 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Florio has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Pax Holcomb, who scored seven points along with seven assists and five rebounds.

Model Secondary School for the Deaf's loss dropped their record down to 13-10. As for Smith Jewish Day School, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season.
