Basketball Recap: Muncy Finds Playoff Glory Versus Neumann Regional Academy

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Muncy had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They snuck past the Neumann Regional Academy Golden Knights with a 55-49 win. The Indians haven't had any issues with the Golden Knights recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Muncy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nathan Rogers, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and ten rebounds. That's the most points Rogers has posted since back in December of 2024. Stiles Eyer was another key player, putting up nine points along with eight boards and six assists.

Muncy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 24 consecutive games dating back to last season.

When it comes to explaining why Neumann Regional Academy lost, don't look at Daiton Thompson. Despite the final result, he had 28 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lajon Dizzard, who scored nine points.

Muncy's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-4. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.8 points over those games. As for Neumann Regional Academy, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-16.

As of now, neither Muncy nor Neumann Regional Academy have any future games scheduled.
