Kennedy extended their winning streak to 11 on Friday, bumping them up to 12-1. They blew past the DSST: Montview Knights 54-21. The Commanders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten games by 23 points or more this season.

Kennedy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mercedes Gerry led the charge by putting up ten points along with seven boards and five steals. Gerry is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 15 games she's played dating back to last season. Great Azondekon was another key player, earning seven points and five steals.

Kennedy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in 11 consecutive contests.

As for DSST: Montview, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season. While losing is never fun, they can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 246th, while Kennedy is ranked 109th).

Natalie McKinnis and Sa'Veyah Rogers certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. McKinnis posted two points in addition to 11 rebounds and three steals, while Rogers scored 16 points and four steals.

Kennedy has already played their next game, a 45-31 defeat against Castle View on the 2nd. As for DSST: Montview, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 50-29 win against DSST: College View on the 3rd.
