Volleyball Recap: San Jacinto Has No Trouble Against West Valley

San Jacinto's game two weeks ago was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They blew past the West Valley Mustangs 3-0. This was a revenge game for the Tigers: when they faced off against the Mustangs back in March, they had to take a 3-2 defeat.

San Jacinto never let West Valley on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The final score came out to 25-16, 25-19, 25-23.

Skylar Murphy paced San Jacinto's offense, picking up 19 kills. Murphy got some help from Tristan 'Zaza' Zazueta and his 35 assists. Jo Jo Camargo controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

West Valley's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Carlvin Valdez, who had 21 assists and seven digs. Valdez is on a roll when it comes to assists, as he's now posted 16 or more in each of the last eight games he's played. Another player making a difference was Nile Ledda, who had 17 digs.

San Jacinto's record is now 9-5. As for West Valley, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season.

San Jacinto has already played their next game, a 3-1 defeat against Elsinore on the 11th. As for West Valley, they will be playing at home against Temescal Canyon at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
