Baseball Recap: Atlanta Extends Winning Streak to Nine

Atlanta came tearing into Wednesday's contest with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.1 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They didn't even let the Brashear Tigers on the board, marking their second-straight 1-0 shutout. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 6-2 last Monday.

Atlanta's victory was their 11th straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 25-4. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Brashear, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season.

Atlanta will face off against Green City at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Gophers' pitching crew has only allowed 1.9 runs per game this season, so the Hornets' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Brashear does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
