Baseball Recap: Desert Mirage Comes Up Short

Desert Mirage was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Cathedral City Lions. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-1 last Monday.

Desert Mirage saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jezreel Camacho, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. That run was Camacho's first of the season. Another was Edilverto Biarco, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Desert Mirage now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Cathedral City, their win ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-7.

Desert Mirage didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 11-8 victory against Desert Hot Springs on the 24th. As for Cathedral City, they have also already played their next matchup, a 12-1 defeat against Banning on the 24th.
