Newberry had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They took their game with ease, bagging a 62-14 win over the Union County Yellowjackets. With the Bulldogs ahead 55-14 at the half, the match was all but over already.

When it comes to explaining why Union County lost, don't look at Akeem Shaw`. Despite the final result, he picked up 95 receiving yards and one score. The bulk of those receiving yards came from one huge play: a catch that gained an incredible 52 yards.
