The William Floyd Colonials have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 21 points or more this season. They claimed a resounding 59-30 win over Central Islip on the road. That's another feather in the cap for William Floyd, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Leading William Floyd to victory were Kayla Gilmore and Jacqueline Sutherland. Gilmore scored 19 points along with five assists and five rebounds, while Sutherland scored 31 points along with seven steals. The match was Gilmore's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayden Meyer, who scored four points along with nine rebounds.
William Floyd's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Central Islip, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-2.
William Floyd will be home for the holidays to greet Longwood at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Central Islip will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Walt Whitman at 12:45 p.m. on January 20, 2024.
