Football Recap: Noblesville Millers vs. Brownsburg Bulldogs
Noblesville had lost nine straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 1-7 to make it ten. They were dealt a 42-7 defeat at the hands of the Brownsburg Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, the Millers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana football rankings (they are ranked 75th, while the Bulldogs are ranked first).
As for Brownsburg, the win keeps them at an undefeated 8-0. Considering they have won five games by more than 27 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Brownsburg got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Shakovon Sumpterbey out in front who rushed for 84 yards and a pair of scores on only eight carries. That's the most rushing yards Sumpterbey has posted since back in November of 2024. Brady Lewis also helped with two touchdowns in total.
Noblesville wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 31-10 loss against Avon on the 17th. As for Brownsburg, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 35-7 win against Hamilton Southeastern on the 17th.
