Football Game Preview: Inchelium Hornets vs. Curlew Cougars + Official Tickets

The Inchelium Hornets will head out on the road to square off against the Curlew Cougars at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Inchelium's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.

Inchelium is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing SelPort: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Hornets blew the Lumberjacks out of the water with a 62-14 final score. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Hornets had established a 38-point advantage.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Inchelium to victory, but perhaps none more so than Gaige Stensgar, who picked up 174 receiving yards and four scores. Stensgar's receiving production has been exceptional as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 105 receiving yards. Gary Stensgar was another key back, gaining 147 total yards and three touchdowns.

Inchelium was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 225 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in September.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Curlew). They blew past Republic 77-0 last Friday. The win continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won four in a row.

Inchelium's record is now 7-1. As for Curlew, their record now sits at 5-2.

Everything came up roses for Inchelium against Curlew in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 60-26 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hornets since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
