Softball Game Preview: Westland Hialeah Wildcats vs. Miami Springs Golden Hawks

Westland Hialeah hasn't had much luck against Miami Springs recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Westland Hialeah Wildcats will welcome the Miami Springs Golden Hawks at 4:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Westland Hialeah is coming home looking for redemption after taking a loss in their road opener. They came up short against Ferguson back in February, falling 17-0.

Meanwhile, Miami Springs was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 30-10 to Academy for Innovative Education.

Miami Springs got a massive performance out of Amanda Torres, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Khrystine Gil, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Even though they lost, Miami Springs always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .650. The last time their OBP was this high was back in February of 2024.
