Recap: Pueblo West Cyclones vs. Sierra Stallions
The Pueblo West Cyclones were the 45-39 winner over the Sierra Stallions when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Pueblo West took a 65-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of Sierra on Tuesday. Pueblo West's defeat continues a unfortunate trend for the team, making it three in a row.
Pueblo West's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Andrew Trujillo, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 16 rebounds. Trujillo is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now blocked two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Logan Montgomery, who scored 19 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 blocks.
Pueblo West's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Sierra, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pueblo West's road trip will continue as they head out to face Sand Creek at 7:00 p.m. on December 7th. Sand Creek comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Sierra, they will head out on the road to face off against Pine Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Pine Creek focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Tuesday.
