Columbus Academy had won ten straight on the road, but on Monday they bumped up to 20-1 to make it 11. They walked away with a 43-35 victory over the Buckeye Valley Barons. The 43-point effort marked the Vikings' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Columbus Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Gabrielle Coats, who posted eight points and five steals. Coats is also on a roll when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 50% in the last three games she's played. Kendall Owens was another key player, putting up 16 points.

As for Buckeye Valley, their loss ended a ten-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 20-2. Barons fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against Columbus Academy since Monday.

When it comes to explaining why Buckeye Valley lost, don't look at Tegan McMillen. Despite the final result, she went 6-for-12 on her way to 15 points in addition to five boards and four steals. Another player making a difference was Mj Cress, who earned four points.

Coming up, Columbus Academy will square off against Bexley at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Buckeye Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
