Basketball Recap: Royalton Takes a Loss

Royalton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 70-64 heartbreaker at the hands of the Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City Falcons. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Royals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 63-55 back in January.

Royalton's loss dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season.

Royalton and Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Minnesota Rankings. Royalton (ranked 321st) will meet Holdingford (ranked 84th) at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City will square off against Central Minnesota Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Monday down 176 places (276 vs. 100).
