Tennessee took a seven-run defeat the last time they faced off against Richlands, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Vikings sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over the Blue Tornado on Thursday. This was payback for the Vikings, who suffered a 7-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

Carrington Harris tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits.

On the hitting side, Abigail Haga was excellent, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one triple. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Taylor Carmody, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one double.

Tennessee's victory bumped their record up to 8-13. As for Richlands, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Blue Tornado beat Tennessee by a score of 4-0 later that day.
