Softball Recap: Santa Barbara Takes a Loss

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Santa Barbara's offense. They came up short against the Rio Mesa Spartans on Wednesday, falling 13-0. The Dons haven't had much luck with the Spartans recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Santa Barbara's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Rio Mesa, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Santa Barbara will host Oxnard at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Oxnard is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.7 runs per game this season. As for Rio Mesa, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Pacifica at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Rio Mesa also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 7.5 runs per game.
