Football Recap: Maddie Price's Menacing Defense Leads Holtville over Hoover

Holtville won the last time they faced Hoover, and Kadence Toten did her part to make sure it happened again. The Vikings strolled past the Cardinals with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 21-6 with plenty of help from Toten, who threw for 180 yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in one rushing score. She also deserves a shoutout for her performance on D, making six total tackles and defending one pass.

Holtville didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Maddie Price. She also hauled in two receiving touchdowns, which is notable because Holtville is undefeated when she posts at least two receiving touchdowns, but 0-5 otherwise.

Holtville has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 3-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 9.3 points on average over those games. As for Hoover, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Holtville has already played their next contest (against Mission Bay), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Hoover, they have also already played their next match, an 18-0 defeat against Morse on the 23rd.
