Basketball Game Preview: Apex Friendship Patriots vs. Green Level Gators

The Apex Friendship Patriots and the Green Level Gators will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest having both just played. One thing working in Apex Friendship's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five matches.

On Tuesday, Apex Friendship strolled past Apex with points to spare, taking the game 73-55. Given the Patriots' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 116th, while the Cougars are ranked 404th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Green Level has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 60-59 heartbreaker at the hands of Holly Springs.

Apex Friendship pushed their record up to 14-6 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Green Level, their loss ended a seven-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-4.

Apex Friendship might still be hurting after the 73-50 defeat they got from Green Level in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Green Level's Isaac Ericksen, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds.
