Baseball Recap: Caney Valley Gets the Win

Caney Valley lost to Pawhuska back in April of 2025, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Trojans came out on top against the Huskies by a score of 5-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Trojans.

Bryor Bonde spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on seven hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, Preston Gipson was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Caney Valley's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 6-13 when he doesn't).

Caney Valley's record is now 9-13. As for Pawhuska, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last ten games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-15 record this season.

Caney Valley will have a chance to go back-to-back against Pawhuska: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
