Baseball Recap: Eastern Comes Up Short

Renaissance hit Eastern with a five-run first inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Quakers took an 11-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Phoenix. The Quakers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Eastern saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carlos Gonzalez, who went 1-for-2 with two runs.

Eastern's loss dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Renaissance, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Eastern will head out to face off against Haslett at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Renaissance, they will venture away from home to take on Cody at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
