While Palmerton's victory against Pen Argyl wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Blue Bombers narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Green Knights 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Blue Bombers have posted since March 21st.

HAILEY BARRY spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on five hits.

At the plate, Palmerton's win was truly a team effort as two different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was SAMANTHA WOLFE, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Palmerton's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Pen Argyl, the defeat snapped their winning streak at seven games and leaves them with a 9-3 record.

Looking ahead, Palmerton will challenge Salisbury Township at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Blue Bombers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Falcons have averaged an impressive 8 runs per game this season. As for Pen Argyl, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Notre Dame-Green Pond at 4:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Green Knights 2.1, the Crusaders 3.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.
