Volleyball Recap: Lakota West Takes a Loss

Lakota West and Lakota East squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Lakota West had to settle for second. They lost 3-0 to the Thunderhawks. The Firebirds just can't catch a break and have now endured nine defeats in a row.

The final score came out to 25-20, 25-12, 25-17.

Lakota East can attribute much of their success to Carson Berling, who had 11 digs and seven assists. Those seven assists gave Berling a new career-high. Austin Dreher also deserves some recognition as he had his first block of the season.

Lakota West's loss dropped their record down to 1-14. As for Lakota East, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-2 record this season.

Lakota West does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lakota East, they will face off against Milford at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something the Thunderhawks surely won't give up without a fight.
