Simon Kenton and Highlands are an even 4-4-2 against one another since April of 2016, but likely not for long. The Pioneers will be playing at home against the Bluebirds at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Highlands took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Simon Kenton, who comes in off a win.

While Simon Kenton's win against Newport Central Catholic wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Pioneers narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Thoroughbreds 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Pioneers have posted since April 12th.

Tre Beach was excellent, earning two runs and three stolen bases. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March.

Meanwhile, Highlands unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Wednesday. They came up short against Cincinnati Trailblazers HomeSchool, falling 8-2. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Bluebirds couldn't push the score so high this time.

Highlands also got a good showing from Iain Carner, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Carner has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Highlands saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brooks Hendrix, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one double.

Highlands' loss dropped their record down to 17-7-2. As for Simon Kenton, their victory bumped their record up to 13-7-3.
