League recap: Vitt breaks off league-leading run for Fairview

Eastern C (8 Man) recap Oct. 9, 2012

Fairview's Cody Vitt recorded the longest rushing play in Eastern C (8 Man) this season in his game against St. Labre Indian Catholic last week. Vitt's team bested the Braves as he sprinted for 75 yards on the play and finished with 221 in all.

Fairview extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating St. Labre Indian Catholic, 86-0. The victory was the seventh in a row for Kevin Clausen's team.

The Warriors' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Monte Cayko threw for 35 and one touchdown and Justin Bieber had 27 yards receiving. Seth Flynn helped Fairview's passing attack out by catching one ball for eight yards.

Logan Kjos made the biggest impact on defense this week as Fairview beat the Braves. The 5-foot-11 senior forced one fumble and racked up 1.5 sacks.

Fairview's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Warriors feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Brock Schriver has thrown for 539 yards and eight touchdowns this season, while Bieber has seven catches for 147 yards. Vitt leads the league in rushing with 1171 yards.

A big matchup in Eastern C (8 Man) this week will be when Froid/Medicine Lake takes on the Warriors. The Honkers are in fifth place, while Fairview is in first place.
