Softball Recap: South Dade's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

The matchup between South Dade and Jackson on Friday hardly resembled the 0-0 effort from their previous meeting. The South Dade Buccaneers put the hurt on the Jackson Generals with a sharp 18-2 win. The Buccaneers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by 11 runs or more this season.

South Dade got a massive performance out of B. Cuellar, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance also gave Cuellar a new career-high in doubles (two). K. Pena was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing Three bases. while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

South Dade always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of 1.000. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The victory snapped South Dade's losing streak at five games and leaves them with a 4-7 record. As for Jackson, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, South Dade will square off against Coral Park at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Jackson, they are taking a road trip to challenge Booker T. Washington at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
