Basketball Recap: Louisiana Takes a Loss

Louisiana lost against Van-Far back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Louisiana Bulldogs were outmatched by the Van-Far Indians and fell 67-37. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 442nd, while the Indians are ranked 201st).

Leading Van-Far to victory were Pacey Reading and Carson Huff. Reading went 7 for 16 en route to 19 points in addition to seven boards and four steals, while Huff posted 11 points and six steals. Gaven Gaston was another key player, putting up eight points along with seven assists and six rebounds.

Louisiana has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season. As for Van-Far, their victory bumped their record up to 14-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Louisiana will square off against Clopton at 7:00 p.m. on February 4th. One thing working in Clopton's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Van-Far, they will challenge Bowling Green at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Van-Far is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.3 points per game this season.
