Basketball Recap: Petersburg Takes a Loss

If Petersburg was riding high fresh off their 52-12 takedown of Meadowbrook last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Petersburg Crimson Wave took a 52-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Prince George Royals. The Crimson Wave have struggled against the Royals recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Prince George found their leader in freshman Honestii Morton, who posted 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kailey Vaughen, who put up ten points.

Petersburg's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Prince George, they moved to 2-3 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Petersburg will face off against Matoaca at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Matoaca will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Petersburg surely won't give up without a fight. As for Prince George, they will square off against Dinwiddie at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
