Recap: College Park Cavaliers vs. Grand Oaks Grizzlies
After flying high against the Conroe Tigers last Friday, the College Park Cavaliers came back down to earth. College Park took a 45-28 bruising from Grand Oaks on Tuesday. College Park was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Grand Oaks apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2023.
College Park's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Natalia Ibizugbe, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds, and Katie Westwood who scored six points.
Bree Riley was her usual excellent self, scoring 32 points along with five steals for Grand Oaks. That makes it 25 consecutive games in which Riley has scored at least 25% of Grand Oaks' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Hannah Reynolds, who scored seven points.
College Park's defeat dropped their record down to 13-11. As for Grand Oaks, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-13.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Caney Creek the next time they take the court. Grand Oaks will host Caney Creek at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, while College Park will host them at 6:30 p.m. on January 19th.
