Alcoa entered their tilt with Gibbs on Wednesday with eight consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with nine. They walked away with a 5-2 win over the Eagles. This was payback for the Tornadoes, who suffered a 7-6 loss the last time these two teams met.

Myles Cox spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in nine consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Eli Graf, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Bleau Kennedy, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Alcoa's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.5 runs on average over those games. As for Gibbs, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-13.
